I Have a Dream by Juilee Pryor | Street Art NSW

Painted in August 1991 over one evening, made as a gift to the Newtown community. The mural reflects three themes from the 20th century: gender equality, environmental activism and civil rights. The focus of Martin Luther King is also a reference to the location that it’s on: King Street. It is said to be the most photographed street art in Australia. The artwork was heritage listed in December 2014 after restorations through the Perfect Match program earlier that year, a move that the artist called brave and extraordinary.

Behold, the Dreamer cometh. Come now therefore, and let us slay him... and we shall see what will become of his dreams. - Jacobs Brothers
