A tribute to Nambour's heroic son, James "Jim" Wallace Hocking, painted on the junior auditorium at Nambour State College to immortalise Jim and his bravery. This work was created in honour of the hero 80 years on from a brave decision to sacrifice his own life to save the life of his crew and residents of the town of March in Cambridgeshire on 28 July 1944. He was then posthumously awared the Australian Bravery Award the Star of Courage for his actions.
The Stirling Bomber which lost power during this event is depicted in black and white, while members of the parachuting crew and St Wendreda's Church also feature in the work. The artwork was assisted by Kate Thynne and senior art students at the college.
