The Kurri Kurri Visitor Information Centre mural project was commissioned with funding received from the Kurri Kurri District Business Chamber that completed operations this year. The Kurri Kurri Business Chamber was instrumental in making this project possible and they supported the development of the town and its community over its 110 years of operation.
Billy the pit horse is an important part of local history as horses were used to move the skips in the mines by their handlers and were a respected team member of the coal mining community. Billy plays tribute to the pit horses of their time.
