Street Art NSW started on 1 July 2020, originally as @streetartdingo before rebranding in December 2023 returning as a contributor for Street Art Cities. Street Art NSW branched off from Street Art Cities in December 2024 and undertook design work and planning before launching in September 2025 as an independent project.
The idea stemmed from the bulk of existing Sydney street art map websites generally focusing only on the Sydney CBD or the Inner West. While there are occasionally mentions of street art hotspots greater than 10km from the CBD such as Liverpool or Cronulla, many other emerging spaces remain overlooked. That was the objective to build on and report on the growing street art scene, especially within Western Sydney, and other regions such as Southwest Sydney, the Northern Beaches, the Hawkesbury, and everywhere in between.
Street Art NSW aims to be the most comprehensive, consistent and reputable source for street art and murals across New South Wales, eventually covering each of the major cities interstate, and beyond to the Asia and Pacific region.
The travel map below shows the many cities and towns which have been travelled to and documented on Street Art NSW. Some towns which look like a path through or going around may not have had stopovers and their artworks explored thoroughly. The month and year represents the last time the area has been finely combed and documented for any murals or street art. Metropolitan areas will not include many points due to density.
Some points might look to be out of order chronologically, however these are sequenced by when they were first documented, so a place may be represented with a more recent visit.
