A tribute to Australia's first female rugby player, Maggie Moloney, who reportedly practiced her kicks along James Street nearby their family home. She had played as part of the NSW Ladies Rugby Football League big match at the Royal Agricultural Society's Show Grounds 101 years prior and had played with exceptional speed. She scored four tries for the Metropolitan Blues against the Sydney Reds in the world's first public women's rugby league match.
Her portrait is credited from the Moloney descendants from the family archive, and the project an initiative of local Rugby League historian Katherine Haines. A football signed with the 'Dally M' highlights Dally Messenger's instrumental role in launching the women's contest.
