The Gumbramorra wetlands were once a huge multi-pond wetland system, which fed into Goolay'yari (Cooks River). It is now largely hidden underneath the suburbs of Marrickville, Sydenham and Enmore in the form of concrete canals and holding basins.

The QR code provided by the Inner West refers to another artwork Wetland by the same artist, although it is located in Sydenham. The artwork brings a bit of the bush to Newtown, with Karla Hayes assisting for the work.
