This mural was painted to commemorate those Brethren who established Freemasonry in the Weston, Kurri Kurri and Abermain districts. Lodges were formed in Kurri Kurri No. 253 in 1908, Weston No. 317 in 1917, Kurri St. George No. 594 in 1926 and Abermain No. 634 in 1929. These lodges were all consolidated to become Lodge Tomalpin No. 253 in 1989. Their work lives on.
